Self Reflection

1. I believe that blogging has brought out the best writer in me, it has made me express my feelings better. I think the purpose of this was to let us writers use our every-day technology in a new and fun way. Also, I think the idea of us writing about something that we love was amazing. I think it would really show our personality through our writings more because it is something that we are really passionate about so we have many different ideas towards it. Writing activities would have felt like an old-school assignment, but if we use edublogs then you can show everyone what you think and also you can keep writing after this year ends.

2. My writing has gotten better in terms of “voice” and “organization”, I think. Blogging has helped me with expressing myself better towards people that I don’t know. I think that I improved most in my writing because I feel more comfortable now that I have written something every week and given my all. At the beginning of this unit of edublogs, the writing didn’t come to me as easy at it has been from the beginning of this self reflection. I think edublogs have helped me but I know that it has helped many more kids.

3. I would never have thought that there would be a site on the internet that let kids write about their feels and anything that they want. This site is beneficial to anyone that wants to express themselves and want a new and fun journal. I learned how to link my words to its own page and how to add videos on my blog. Other than that, I haven’t learned anything else.

4. I think this will benefit me in the future because I can connect it to my passion, fashion. When I grow up I want to become a fashion designer and I am sure that I am going to have to write at least one page for almost each piece that I design. Well at least I would like to do that even if it is not required. Also I think that it will help my writing skills in my other classes and now that my writing has been easier for me, my grades could possibly get better.

Akon Concert also My First Concert

You know when you try something new and a weird tingling feeling runs through your body? Knowing that my first concert ever was Akon’s made that feeling feel way better, more fullfilling. His concert was on May 22 and gets opened at 8. The whole thing in general was better than amazing, extravagant, huge, STELLAR! Even though, the beginning was kind of boring, they kept yelling, “ARE YOU READY FOR AKOOOOOOON!!”, but then he wouldn’t show up on stage. It was so frustrating, but i had to resist, it was Akon! So as the night goes on the heat rises and the sweat increases but I am still on my feet dancing to the songs thay are putting up.

“For sure he’s going to come up now, I mean we have been waiting for so long he’s going to get here soon right?” Lana, the girl that danec with me at the Variety Show, was getting pretty angry at the fact that Akon still wasn’t on stage. Gates opened at 8 and he was supposed to come on stage at either 9 or 10, I can’t remember. But whatever, we kept dancing and waiting for his entrance, we knew it was going to me amazing. The original order was meant to be; DJ Saynomre, DJ urge, and then Akon. Although that did not happen, the order ended up being; DJ Saynomore, DJ Surge, some other DJ, then DJ Saynomore again, AND THEN Akon. All I was thinking about was dancing and waiting for akon, it was one of the hardest thing on Earth. At one point, when DJ Saynomore was playing for the second time, the crowd “booed” him off the stage. I felt pretty but we all were there to watch Akon perform not them. Time was ticking and my parents were starting come. I was getting REALLY nervous, and before I knew it lights were flashing, fireworks were going, and AKON STEPPED ON STAGE! People were like a group of all different animals going for the same piece of meat. The crowd was so loud! It was amazing, the best experience ever! Unfortunately at the end of his first song I had to leave. I missed a lot! I heard that he jumped into the crowd and one of my friends cought his jacket! I was so mad when i found out that I could have gotten it! This night was one of the best in my life and I don’t think I will ever forget that night.

My Forever Home :) -Rome

I’m italian and I thought I should give the tourists some tips also ’cause I thought it might be best for me to explain what to do and what NOT to do in Italy. Well first of all I’m from Rome, so don’t expect anything bad coming out about Rome. I ADORE Italy, I have all of my closest friends that live there and my whole family. I miss it so much that I thought about moving there at the end of this year ALONE! Everyone respects me there and almost everyone knows me. Even though Italy might seem like one of the most romantic places and one of the most beautiful places, it has its ups and downs. For example some of the people are rude because they are too full of themselves and some parts of Italy are just not nice to see. But my home, Rome, is breath-taking.

Rome

I think Rome is mostly known for its architecture. The way you see Rome in pictures, is the way you see it live. It is beautiful, full of surprises and last, but certainly not least, it is astonishing! Everyone always says that Rome is a small city, that of course if you are used to New York or Texas or even Canada, but Rome is actually a normal size city. It’s impossible to get lost there, even if you are a tourist. In fact, since the city is so cozy and “small,” we use small cars like smart car. You will NEVER see someone with a Range Rover or a Hummer jut because you cannot find space for something that big; even a convertible Beetle doesn’t fit in a parking spot.

What I think people should know is that italians are a bit too full of themselves. They think they can do whatever for they want for no reason at all, because they are so stuck up they become rude. I am speaking from past experiences with friends of mine. I have noticed that whenever a waiter finished getting his orders from foreigners, they go to their co-workers and laugh. Not only they do that, but while they are ordering they talk very trashy and it doesn’t make a good impression. But that, of course doesn’t happen often; it is a rare case. First, you NEVER do the “shuei shuei” sign to italians, it’s probably the rudest thing someone could do. Also, do not talk to them in english because they will try their hardest to speak in English but in the end they stop talking to you and leave.

likes and dislikes

I bet I can find more than one thousand people that absolutely loathe gossip. Out of all the problems in this world, it is the thing that I dislike the most. Gossip has cause many difficulties in my life and others such as having to cheer up many of my friends and ending up in the middle of their problems. Gossip is something that I think is going to exist forever, it is never going to go away unfortunately. This is because there are people that are tattle tales and others that aren’t and that becomes a problem. The reason why I say that is because if a trustworthy person, or any other type of person, tells an untrustworthy person something then it is a disaster. Everyone starts hearing different stories and they all come back to you at once and
you do not know how to stop them. Gossip is one of the main causes of depression. I know a big amount of people that have almost killed themselves because of gossip, maybe that is too exaggerated but they still thought about it.

I am the style of the future. I love to design anything for anyone. My latest “customer” was my mother. I designed almost half of her closet and every time she wears my clothes people complement them and make me feel amazing. Fashion has been one of the most extravagant impact in this world and in my life. My biggest influence was Chanel because when Chanel started her collection she changed the civilization’s way of thinking about fashion. No more puffed up dresses with laces and big laced hats but high tight pants and tucked-in shirts. Now that is not the fashion today as everyone can see. It seems like every century that passes by, the style changes. But lets not forget that we also take styles from the past and bring then to the present. When I design my clothes, I have noticed that I take many styles like high-waist pants and add them with new and fun shirts. I believe that I can pursue my dream as a fashion designer only if I keep going and never let go. My favorite fashion designers are Coco Chanel, because she changed the world, Valentino, because he has the classiest dresses, and Fendi, because it has styles for elders and kids. I am the style of the future.

“I don’t do fashion, I am fashion,” Coco Chanel.

Today’s Variety Show

Lana and I have always wanted to do a dance in front of everyone. Well, our chances of making that dream real finally came to us; the Variety Show. from the day we heard it we knew what we were going to do, a dance to Right Round for about a minute. For about a week and a half we practiced our dance but on the last day of rehearsals they tell us that our song isn’t good. So we had to change the song and the steps to make it look better and we ended up dancing to Freeze; our dance was looking great. Today was the Variety Show, it was amazing, for the audience. It was probably the best dance show I have ever done even though the whole dance come out wrong. Me and Lana were both in it and we aced at covering up our mistakes! As soon as we got on stage they played the wrong song but it didn’t matter because our self esteem was still high even though people were laughing and yelling “failure.” That was what i THOUGHT. What I didn’t know was if you tell Lana something offensive, she gets hurt and brings her self esteem down. So while we were dancing she thought about what people were yelling and dropped her glasses. Because I didn’t want her to seem like she messed up I threw my glasses to the floor, the only problem with that was we both skipped a beat which meant we skipped a whole move. Although we messed up, we both had the idea of just dancing on the spot for that little part and then continue out little dance off. It turned out amazing, everyone thought that what we did was all on purpose. I got so worried for nothing, i thought everyone was going to laugh and we were going to fail, but, we did it. It was amazing.

how does freedom of speech reflect us as bloggers?

Dictionary

Freedom: the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints.

Freedom of speech: Liberty to express opinions and ideas without hindrance, and especially
without fear of punishment.

My Words

Freedom: the power to do whatever your want on that specific subject.
Freedom of Speech: the liberty to say/express you opinions and ideas without fear.

The internet has been a good invention to the civilization. These days all we use are computers to communicate with each other but we should still remember our
limits. Us as bloggers have to remember that what we do is for school, not for getting in trouble with going over the line of freedom of speech. We also have
to remember to express ourselves in a way that doesn’t cross the line.
I think freedom of speech for bloggers is restricted, as in we cannot cross the line with our thoughts. Although, freedom of speech in person is different.

I think we have to be careful with what we say because it might happen that a producer or a company etc. could sue or more because of our comments on a certain topic. I think it is going to be easy to blog because freedom of speech doesn’t effect us too much. We only have to be careful about what we say, that’s all.
